ANXIETY THERAPY IN RALEIGH, NC
Hi there! I'm Layla Williams (LCSWA). My education and professional experiences within both inpatient and outpatient settings have equipped me with the skills necessary to assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health concerns.
I have clinical experience working with children, teens, adults, multicultural, and LGBTQIA+ populations who are experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction/recovery, domestic violence, abuse, behavioral challenges, and learning differences. I help my clients in building their self-esteem, developing healthy coping skills, addressing experiences of trauma, working through distress related to life transitions, improving communication, and setting appropriate boundaries within relationships. I have a range of experience working with clients of all ages in both individual and group sessions. My experience working as a therapist for children and teens in both in-patient and out-patient settings has equipped me with specialized knowledge in anxiety therapy techniques.
I offer both virtual and in-person therapy in Raleigh, NC.
Some fun facts about me are that I married my high school sweetheart and I am very much a cat person. In my spare time, I like to read, bake, and try out new restaurants.
COUNSELING APPROACH
In my work, I like to utilize a variety of treatment modalities including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Motivational Interviewing.
Some therapists may view themselves as the expert in the room when it comes to treatment, but I prefer to take a different approach. I like to work collaboratively with my clients to determine the best course of action to meet their individual goals. Because each client's needs and goals are as unique as they are, I aim to remain flexible in my treatment approach so that I can provide the appropriate modality for each individual. I don't believe that "one size fits all" when it comes to therapy. My goal as a clinician is to provide a space for clients that is full of compassion: somewhere they can feel validated and understood. To do this, I focus on providing a safe, judgment-free, and culturally-sensitive environment where clients can be their most authentic selves. I welcome clients of all backgrounds and orientations.
