Sydney Cormas, CMHC-I
Child, Teen, and Young Adult Therapist
RALEIGH, NC
Hi! I’m Sydney, and I’m a graduate-level counseling intern pursuing my degree in Counselor Education with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at East Carolina University. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, social skills, eating disorders, and life transitions. I have experience working in a residential care setting specializing in the treatment of eating disorders.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I strive to tailor my approach to each individual’s unique needs while fostering a safe, supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment. I believe that everyone has the capacity for meaningful change with the right support, and my goal is to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they build insight, confidence, and skills to support personal growth and progress toward their goals.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my pup, experimenting with new recipes, reading, traveling, caring for my aquariums, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to the opportunity to work together!
Let’s get to know each other!
